Rabobank scoops ‘Bank of the Year’ in 2025 Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards

Food and agri banking specialist Rabobank has been named ‘Bank of the Year’ in research group Roy Morgan’s New Zealand Customer Satisfaction Awards for 2025.

Rabobank ranked ahead of nine other large New Zealand banks to pick up the award after recording the highest customer satisfaction score of any bank in two of the four quarters to June 2025. Across these four quarters, Rabobank received an average satisfaction rating of 85.4%.

Last run in 2017, Roy Morgan re-launched the annual New Zealand Customer Satisfaction Awards this year to honour the businesses that provide their customers with industry-leading levels of satisfaction. For the 2025 awards, approximately 7,000 New Zealanders were asked to rate their satisfaction with brands and service providers across 22 industry categories.

Rabobank CEO Todd Charteris said customer satisfaction was a key focus for the bank.

“We pride ourselves on providing the highest levels of service to our customers and we’re thrilled to have won this award,” he said.

“It’s great recognition of the outstanding work our teams across the country do every day serving our 4,000 odd rural lending clients, as well as the approximately 53,000 customers who save with us via our Online Savings business.”

Mr Charteris said the bank worked closely alongside its clients and customers to better understand their needs.

“We regularly ask our clients and customers for feedback on what we could do better and we take this feedback seriously,” he said.

“This includes tapping into the insights from our Client Council network. We have four Client Councils across New Zealand – two in the north and two in the south – who we meet with regularly and who provide us with valuable insights that help inform our strategy.

“We’re committed to considering any feedback provided to us by our clients and customers, and we’ll continue working hard to further improve the level of service we provide to them.”

The Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction ratings are collected from Roy Morgan’s Single Source survey annually. To be eligible for an Award, an organisation’s product or service must be included within the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction list for Roy Morgan Single Source and meet critical sampling criteria such as sample size.
