General
Rabobank offers a Debit Mastercard® linked to your All In One Account. Card services are not available for Rabobank Online Savings products.
You can request a Rabobank Debit Card when completing the Account Operating Authority (AOA) form as part of your All In One Account application.
If your account is already open, authorised persons on the account can request a Rabobank Debit Card by contacting Client Services via the Rabobank Agribusiness NZ app or by phone.
If you are not currently an Authorised Signatory and would like a Debit Card, please have an authorised person contact their Rural Manager to assist with this request.
You can update your mobile / email address via Rabobank Internet Banking. To change your address, please Contact our Client Services team via the Rabobank Agribusiness NZ app or by phone.
Keeping your contact details up to date helps ensure you receive replacement cards, important account notifications and one-time passcodes for online card transactions.
If your card has expired, you should dispose of it securely to help protect both your personal and card information.
Before discarding the card:
- Cut through the chip and magnetic stripe.
- Cut through any personal details printed on the card, including your name and card number.
- Dispose of the card securely with your household waste.
Taking these steps helps prevent your card information from being accessed or misused after the card has expired.
Yes, you can link more than one eligible account to your Rabobank Debit Card, provided you have the required authority on those accounts.
To add an account to your card or change how your accounts are mapped (e.g. to CHQ or SAV), please Contact Us via the Rabobank Agribusiness NZ app or by phone.
Note: If using the Fast Cash option at an ATM, or tapping your card using PayWave, the default account will be the Cheque account. If a second account is linked to your card, you will be able to choose which account to access for Fast Cash option at an ATM. We are unable to change use of CHQ as the default account for PayWave.
Fees may apply when using your card depending on the type of transaction and where the card is used.
Examples of transactions that may incur fees include:

Card security
Every Rabobank Debit Card is automatically enrolled in Mastercard® Identity Check.
Mastercard® Identity Check provides added protection against the unauthorised use of your card when shopping online with participating merchants.
When shopping online at merchants that support Mastercard® Identity Check:
- You may be sent a one-time passcode. The passcode will be sent by SMS or email depending on your preferences.
- Read the full message to ensure the merchant and payment amount matches what you are purchasing.
- The passcode must be entered on the verification page before the purchase can be completed.
- This helps confirm that the person making the purchase is the authorised cardholder.
Please note:
- Not all online retailers participate in Mastercard® Identity Check.
- If a retailer does not support these services, your purchase will be processed as a regular card transaction.
Access the Rabobank Debit Card Conditions of Use.
First, check the details displayed on the verification screen to confirm where the one-time passcode has been sent.
If the mobile number or email address shown is incorrect or out of date, you will need to update your contact details with Rabobank before selecting "Re-send Passcode".
Need to update your contact details?
You can update your mobile / email address via Rabobank Internet Banking. To change your address, please Contact our Client Services team via the Rabobank Agribusiness NZ app or by phone.
Keeping your contact details up to date helps ensure you receive replacement cards, important account notifications and one-time passcodes for online card transactions.
An online transaction may be declined for several reasons:
- You may have insufficient funds in your account. Check your account balances through Rabobank Internet Banking or the Rabobank Agribusiness NZ app.
- Additional verification may have been required through Mastercard® Identity Check, and the transaction could not be successfully authorised.
- Rabobank does not have a current mobile number or email address registered for you, preventing you from receiving the one-time passcode needed to complete the verification process.
- Your transaction may have been blocked by Mastercard® or internal Rabobank rules due to the high risk nature of the transaction.
If your transaction has been declined, please Contact Us via the Rabobank Agribusiness NZ app or by phone. Our team can assist with the transaction and update any details as required.
You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to keep your card and card details secure.
- Keep your card safe and do not share it with anyone.
- Protect your PIN by keeping it confidential and choosing a PIN that is difficult to guess.
- Cover your PIN when using ATMs or merchant terminals.
- Never share your card number, expiry date, CVV, one-time passcodes, or other security codes, even with the bank.
- Be cautious of unexpected emails, text messages, or phone calls requesting card or account information.
- When shopping online, only use trusted merchants and ensure websites are secure (look for "https://" and a padlock symbol).
- Keep records of your transactions and regularly check your account for any unauthorised activity.
- Block your card online immediately or Contact Us via the Rabobank Agribusiness NZ app or by phone if your card is lost, stolen, or you suspect it has been compromised. We are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week, please call us and follow the prompts for assistance.
