  • New Zealand Relay provides relay services to help deaf, hearing impaired, and deaf-blind people to communicate by phone, text and internet.
  • Blind Low Vision NZ / 0800 24 33 33 – provides large print guidelines, braille and audio transcription services.

  • Suicide Crisis Helpline / 0508 TAUTOKO (0508 82 88 65) - 24/7 support if you are in distress, or worried that someone may be at risk of suicide or for those who are grieving a loss.
  • Healthline / 0800 611 116 – 24/7 advice from trained registered nurses.
  • Samaritans  / 0800 72 66 66 – 24/7 confidential support for anyone who is lonely or in emotional distress.
  • Mental Health Organisation - For information about supporting someone in distress, looking after your own mental health and working toward recovery.

  • He Waka Tapu / 0800 HEYBRO (0800 439 276) – 24/7 support for men who feel they are going to harm a loved one or whānau member.

Support for financial abuse
  • Elder Abuse Response Service / 0800 EA NOT OK (0800 32 668 65) Text 5032 – 24/7 free and confidential helpline will connect you to providers in your area.
  • Seniorline / 0800 725 463 - A free information service for older people. 
  • Age Concern New Zealand / 0800 65 2 105 – Information about financial abuse of older adults and help with training to identify and sensitively managing potential abuse situations.

Services to help maintain or regain control of your finances
  • FinCap / provide budgeting services with all the resources they need to help clients safely and confidentially.
  • Money Talks / 0800 345 123 / Text 4029 – Available 7am to 10pm 7 days a week. Free independent budgeting advice to individuals, family and whānau to help organise debt and plan for the future. They can also put you in touch with a local budgeting service and help with issues you're having with lenders.
