Doors open at Rabobank Dargaville

January 27, 2015

Rabobank will open its newest office in New Zealand next Monday February 2, 2015 located in the Northland township of Dargaville.

Nestled in the heart of Dargaville, the new Rabobank branch will be located at 92 Normanby Street.

Rabobank Northland branch manager Tessa Sutherland said the office is convenient and centrally-located, allowing for clients to easily access the branch.

“It has been a vision for quite some time now and we are thrilled to be opening our new branch in Dargaville next week, starting off 2015 with a bang,” Ms Sutherland said.

“I think its unique for the township to witness a new building like this take shape and we are very happy with the modern look and feel, as well as the state-of-the-art facilities that our clients and staff will be able to make use of.”

Rabobank Dargaville will be the second Rabobank branch in the Northland region, complementing the Whangarei office which opened about 10 years ago.

Ms Sutherland, who has a banking career spanning more than 11 years with Rabobank, has previously been managing the Rabobank Whangarei branch. Based in the Northland, she will continue to operate from both branches, encouraging Rabobank staff to do the same.

Given Rabobank’s longstanding roots in agricultural lending, Ms Sutherland said the opening of the new branch firmly “cements” the commitment the bank is making to the region for the long-term.

“Our Northland team will continue to work together across both branches which will allow us to fully support our clients and to share knowledge of the overlapping agricultural areas. We will make the most of having the two offices to work from – it will be a flexible and welcoming arrangement,” she said.

Joining Ms Sutherland in Dargaville will be rural managers Tina Stewart and Tafi Manjala, along with senior rural manager Bryn Hughes. Finance officer Francie Pyke, and senior finance manager Tracy Tobin round out the team, all of whom have been previously based full-time at Rabobank Whangarei. The new branch has room to accommodate up to eight staff in the future.

“The Northland region is a very prominent agricultural region with strong dairy and mixed farming enterprises,” Ms Sutherland said.

“It’s a tricky time that we are going into, regarding dairy prices at the moment, but we know that that the fundamentals are strong and we remain positive about dairy. Conversely, the sheep and beef sector is in excellent shape and prices are swinging in the right direction at present. At Rabobank, we are here to help people through these agricultural cycles. That’s just what we do.”

Ms Sutherland said an official launch will be planned for the coming months, however the Rabobank office will be open for business next week, welcoming members of the local business community to visit the team. For more information, please contact Rabobank Dargaville on 09 901 4000.
