Executive Development Program (EDP)

The Rabobank EDP is intensive, interactive and challenging. It examines the latest management theories as they apply to agriculture to enhance commercial management skills, explore growth opportunities and develop business strategies. Through a mix of interactive lectures, class discussions, group work and case studies; participants are exposed to innovative and dynamic information by highly-regarded industry experts and consultants, while networking with other leading producers from a diverse range of locations and agricultural sectors.

 

EDP Course 14 – Applications open until 28 May
  • Module 1: 22 to 27 August 2010
  • Module 2: July 2011 (dates to be announced)
  • 2 x 6 day residential modules, held over a 12 month period
  • Held at Macquarie Graduate School of Management, North Ryde, Sydney, Australia

Course format

Incorporated throughout the program are:

  • Guest presenters sharing agribusiness success stories and strategies
  • Group discussion and teamwork – analysing agribusiness strategies and the development of proposals and recommendations
  • Case study analysis

After Module 1, participants complete a management project to directly apply the principles and strategies introduced during the program to their own business. Participants’ management projects are presented during Module 2, with the winning project awarded a business development prize valued at AUD$5,000.

 

Program fee
  • The fee is AUD12,100 (including 10% GST and divided into two equal payments, paid prior to each module), covering instruction, designated accommodation, meals and all course materials.
  • Fee does not cover transportation to and from Sydney.
  • Applications are open until 28 May 2010.
 
 

Application process and selection criteria

No tertiary education is required and Rabobank client status is not a prerequisite. Participants however, must actively contribute to teamwork and discussions and should be prepared to handle a heavy workload – including evening group assignments. With positions in each program limited to 36, selection is on a merit basis at the discretion of the Rabobank selection committee. Participants in each program are also selected to provide regional diversity and represent a broad cross section of agricultural sectors.

 

EDP application process 

Applications are sought from leading agricultural primary producers from Australia and New Zealand, who meet all aspects of the selection criteria.

 

Selection criteria
  • The applicant is a key decision maker for the operation
  • At least five years' strategic management experience on-farm
  • A demonstrable and successful commercial track record
  • A desire to invest in the intellectual capital of an agricultural business or supply chain
  • A desire to innovate and drive growth
